Members, Here are
some helpful instructions to find forms and information on the National
Website NARFE
headquarters is undergoing many changes in the area of online forms and
reports. The information listed below for the most part is no longer
valid. Hopefully at some point, I will be able to rewrite the procedures
below:
NARFE Headquarters no
longer includes in the monthly magazine the list of email addresses to
reach the various departments. Click
here for that information.
How
to locate the Online F-7 or F-7A Forms?
How does a Chapter President or Federation President set up access
to Online Reports?
How
to find the Online Reports (M-111, M-112, M-114, A-220, etc.)?
How
to sign up for GEMS or update your member records?
Many of you are finding it hard
to locate the F-7 and F-7A Online Forms on the HQ website. To find them,
follow these steps.
Headquarters has made changes to the F-7 and F-7A online process.
Now they permit only the President or someone acting on his/her behalf
to access and make changes to these online forms. Also when you submit
these forms online, you have to make a choice whether your chapter or
federation wants to receive paper copies of monthly reports or not.
1 Go to the NARFE Home page. www.narfe.org
2 You will see 3 tabs under the NARFE Banner. NONMEMBERS, MEMBERS AND
NARFE LEADERSHIP
3 Move your mouse over the NARFE LEADERSHIP tab and you will see 3 subcategories,
Publications, Forms and Online Reports.
4 Click on Forms
5 Now Sign In using your Last Name and Membership ID and click SIGN IN
6 You will then be shown a list of Forms to select from. Click on List of
Interactive Forms
7 This will take you to the List of Interactive Forms available that you
can fill out online where you can choose the Chapter Officer Roster (F-7)
or the Federation Officer Roster (F-7A). Make your choice.
8 On the next page they remind you that only Chapter/Federation
presidents or their delegate can proceed. Be sure to read this page and
then, again click on either the F-7 or the F-7A.
9 Now you are asked to enter the President's Last Name and Membership
ID. Do that and click SIGN IN.
10 At the top of the next page you have to choose YES or NO (you have to
make a choice) about receiving paper reports. Be sure that you let the
other officers know what choice you make as it will affect the reports
they will or will not receive.
11 Your name should be filled in already, add your title and read the
instructions.
12 Scroll on down the page, you should see where it fills in for you the
Federation Presidents Email Address, add the Federation Secretary Email
Address and yours if it is not already filled in. (I am writing this for
the F-7 form, the F-7A may be slightly different). These Email Address
are needed if you want a copy of this form emailed to the President,
Secretary and yourself.
13 Fill in the remaining chapter data that it asks for and scroll down
to the list of officers.
14 The current officers should be dimly filled in, for each office
select Change, No Change or Vacant. If you select Change, then you will
need to fill in the Member ID and Last Name of the new officer.
15 At the bottom of the form you can add Comments if you choose. You may
want to print this before clicking the SEND button. Read the last
instructions.
Chapter
Presidents and the Federation President can set up access to Online
Reports
Whenever NARFE Headquarters is notified that there has been a change
in the president position of any chapter or federation, then they delete
any previous access to the online reports. The new president must then
set up access for his chapter or federation. No one but the President
can do this, as it requires personal information that you should not
share with anyone outside your family. Follow the following steps:
1 Go to the NARFE Home page. www.narfe.org
2 You will see 3 tabs under the NARFE Banner. NONMEMBERS, MEMBERS AND
NARFE LEADERSHIP
3 Move your mouse over the NARFE LEADERSHIP tab and you will see 3
subcategories,
Publications, Forms and Online Reports.
4 Click on Online Reports
5 Now Sign In using your Last Name and Membership ID and click SIGN IN
6 Next you will need to select between Chapter Reports or State Reports
(Region Reports are only available to Regional VPs)
7. On the next page you will see a place to enter the Username and
Password, but in this case you do not have those. Look on down and you
will see, I do not have a username and password. Click here to
create a username and password. So click the word here
8. On the next page you will be asked to re-enter your Membership ID and
your Officer Code which is the number 1. After you have entered
the required numbers, click Enter.
9. Now you are taken to another page, this is where you actually
create your unique access for your chapter or federation. In the first
box enter whatever you want for a User Name; it must be between 6
and 20 characters with no spaces. It should include a combination of
letters and number, upper case or lower case does not matter. I might
suggest something related to your chapter name, such as chapter1234. In
the second box, enter whatever you want for a Password, again
between 6 and 20 characters with no spaces and it should be a
combination of letters and numbers. Once you have entered these 2 codes
write them down so that you will remember what they are. There is a third
box where you need to answer a Secret Question. What is your mother's
maiden name? and then a forth box where you need to enter a
valid email address for yourself which will be used in case you forget
your Password and request it be emailed to you. After all of that is
completed, then click on Submit. This was the last step. Now you
can use the newly created Username and Password to gain access to the
Online Reports and you should share these codes with the others in your
chapter or federation who also need access to those Reports.
To find the Online Reports follow
these steps.
4 Click on Online Reports
5 Now Sign In using your Last Name and Membership ID and click SIGN IN
6 Next you will need to select between Chapter Reports or State Reports
(Region Reports are only available to Regional VPs)
7 Next enter the Username and Password that was provided to you from the
Chapter or Federation President.
8 This will take you to the available Reports. Some reports are available
for one date only and some are available for the past 3 months by
selecting the date. Also you can choose to view the Report in 3 different
formats depending on your desires. When finished, LOG OUT.
How
to sign up for GEMS and/or update your mailing address, phone number or
email address.

2 You will see 3 tabs under the NARFE Banner. NONMEMBERS, MEMBERS AND
NARFE LEADERSHIP
